It is not just the air we breathe; it is the food we eat, the water we drink, and our whole bio-diverse interconnected system to consider. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hot_particle\">Radioactive particles<\/a>\u00a0are being found in the USA and continue to be a concern for all of us around the world.\u00a0 Learn more about the danger, <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/23186557\">click here to watch video on radioactive particles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meltdown through containment vessels in three nuclear reactors via\u00a0a global media perspective;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.japantoday.com\/category\/national\/view\/fukushima-plants-nos-2-3-reactors-also-suffered-meltdown-tepco\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.japantoday.com\/category\/national\/view\/fukushima-plants-nos-2-3-reactors-also-suffered-meltdown-tepco<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2011\/WORLD\/asiapcf\/05\/24\/japan.nuclear.plant\/\">http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2011\/WORLD\/asiapcf\/05\/24\/japan.nuclear.plant\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/enenews.com\/tepco-confirms-meltdown-of-reactors-no-2-and-3-no-3-in-worse-condition\">http:\/\/enenews.com\/tepco-confirms-meltdown-of-reactors-no-2-and-3-no-3-in-worse-condition<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/wireStory?id=13671255\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/wireStory?id=13671255<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/rt.com\/news\/fukushima-meltdown-public-tsunami-shoigu\/\">http:\/\/rt.com\/news\/fukushima-meltdown-public-tsunami-shoigu\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinapost.com.tw\/asia\/japan\/2011\/05\/25\/303676\/Rods-in.htm\">http:\/\/www.chinapost.com.tw\/asia\/japan\/2011\/05\/25\/303676\/Rods-in.htm<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yomiuri.co.jp\/dy\/national\/T110525006455.htm\">http:\/\/www.yomiuri.co.jp\/dy\/national\/T110525006455.htm<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The radiation exposure seems minimal; 3\u00a0millisieverts\u00a0in 20 minutes is what is being reported that workers are exposed to who entered the No.#3 reactor at Fukushima. \u00a0The wording below reduces the severity of the amount of radiation exposure, comparing ten minutes with the amount of radiation for the entire year, instead of an hour, (which the amount is greater than) and using words like &#8220;less than&#8221;.\u00a0 Can the media distract public fear?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The two TEPCO employees that entered the No. #3 reactor building on Wednesday evening were exposed to less than 3 millisieverts of radiation during their 10-minute stay, compared with the government-set limit of 250 millisieverts per worker per year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These workers are\u00a0continuing\u00a0to go onsite&#8230;What is not mentioned (see below), or in the many articles that concern the amount of radiation exposure, is that the radiation dose is cumulative. \u00a0This is a high dose of radiation for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The media, government and corporate officials\u2019 approach to minimize the severity and calm the public perception of the situation in the long run does not serve anyone, especially the public.\u00a0 People deserve the opportunity to make responsible decisions regarding their own health and livelihood, and be informed from authority that is endowed with trust.<\/p>\n<p>If the reactor&#8217;s pressure vessels are damaged, as we now know is the case in No.#1, and looks to be the case recently proven also in No. #2 and No.#3 reactors, this remains unchartered territory. \u00a0This is \u00a0a critical situation with unknown outcomes\u00a0that will continue for at least several months more.\u00a0\u00a0If you are wondering how TEPCO in good conscious can now make the statement; \u201cWe don\u2019t think it will develop into a worse situation,\u201d \u00a0take into consideration that this comes from a company who was brought to court about the back-up safety systems of their nuclear power plants, and failed to make the safety changes when warned prior. Unfortunately none of this is comforting.<\/p>\n<p>One thing all can agree on is that this situation is constantly changing so check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/iaeaorg\">IAEA\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>\u00a0for up to the minute status of the continuing nuclear catastrophe at Fukushima, the IAEA team is there now to review. They also are now using a new sign to communicate a radio active area,\u00a0\u00a0to reduce deaths and serious injuries from exposure to radioactive sources. Have you seen this yet? \u00a0&#8220;It is a supplementary warning to the trefoil, which has no intuitive meaning and little recognition beyond those educated in its significance,&#8221; said staff report from the IAEA.\u00a0A study about the old sign showed the symbol did not clearly communicate to the public any inherit danger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-1053\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images.jpg?w=150\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fukushima can\u2019t be stopped at this point, but we can take a look at what we continue to have at stake, in each country with nuclear power.\u00a0 Germany recently, and today we <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052702304520804576345300167187410.html\">congratulate Switzerland for the decision to phase out nuclear power<\/a> now entirely&#8211; for renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>Many countries have begun a review of their nuclear power plants. The EU protested yesterday the proposed review of nuclear to exclude the possibility of<a href=\"http:\/\/www.monstersandcritics.com\/news\/europe\/news\/article_1641600.php\/Terrorism-threats-to-be-excluded-from-EU-nuclear-stress-tests\"> safety if terrorist attack,<\/a>\u00a0 in the assessment. \u00a0There seems to be agreement on the concern here from both the English and the Irish, but some controversy about <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sellafield\">Sellafield<\/a>; an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/newspaper\/frontpage\/2011\/0526\/1224297788118.html\">Irish media outlet says it will be excluded<\/a>\u00a0in the review, while an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/sellafield-to-undergo-eu-stress-tests-143825-May2011\/\">English media outlet says it will be included\u00a0<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Here in the USA right now, the NRC is reviewing all power plants with a report expected to be complete mid July.\u00a0 World Team Now is focused on these potentially \u201cfatal 4\u201d power plants in largely populated coastal areas;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Indian_Point_Energy_Center\">Indian Point, NY<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oyster_Creek_Nuclear_Generating_Station\">Oyster Creek, NJ<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/San_Onofre_Nuclear_Generating_Station\">San Onofre, CA<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diablo_Canyon_Power_Plant\">Diablo Canyon, CA<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.securityinfowatch.com\/node\/1320973?pageNum=2\">The Nuclear Power Licensing Reform Act of 2011<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0reflect our concern about these plants. We can make different choices &#8211;with the best method to solve a catastrophe; avoid one.\u00a0 Defense: close antiquated nuclear power plants.\u00a0 Offense: open up renewable energy sources on a large scale.\u00a0 It is a step that Japan is now considering <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/BT-CO-20110525-711947.html\">20% renewable energy by 2020.<\/a> We need both defense and offense for humanity\u2019s game of life.
