{"id":1072,"date":"2011-06-01T22:04:53","date_gmt":"2011-06-01T22:04:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/?p=1072"},"modified":"2011-06-01T22:14:06","modified_gmt":"2011-06-01T22:14:06","slug":"never-ask-if-it-can-get-worse-fukushimas-radiation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/2011\/06\/01\/never-ask-if-it-can-get-worse-fukushimas-radiation\/","title":{"rendered":"Never Ask If It Can Get Worse-Fukushima&#8217;s Radiation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_1076\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthglobeasia-tif-746x600_q852.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1076\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1076\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthglobeasia-tif-746x600_q852.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthglobeasia-tif-746x600_q852.jpg 746w, https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthglobeasia-tif-746x600_q852-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1076\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Earth Globe Asia Courtesy of NASA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Our next <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldteamnow.org\">World Team Now<\/a> post will hopefully lift you up from the radiation leaking, the recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinapost.com.tw\/asia\/japan\/2011\/06\/01\/304557\/Oil-spill.htm\">oil spill<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8ufVkTWpvSI\">typhoon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The reality is that the <a href=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/2011\/05\/26\/new-sign-of-radiation\/\">global situation from Fukushima<\/a> seems to go from bad to worse.\u00a0 With new continuous leaks of massive amounts of radioactive water into the ocean and radiation that has now gone into the earth, and the ground water table too, when is it enough?<\/p>\n<p>In addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/japanese-scientist-fukushima-meltdown-occurred-within-hours-of-quake\/2011\/05\/26\/AGYXSJCH_story.html\">reactor #1-#3\u2019s meltdown<\/a>, there was an explosion by reactor building #4 that ruptured a tank, and now it is said that the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20110531\/ap_on_bi_ge\/as_japan_earthquake\">oil spill<\/a> is leaking by reactor\u2019s #5 &amp; #6.\u00a0 These last two reactors are the only nuclear reactors left that are potentially functional, but they are now in a nuclear \u201cdead zone\u201d.\u00a0 So why not entomb the entire plant, as maintenance at #5 and #6 will continuously threaten workers maximum exposure, and remain complicated.<\/p>\n<p>Plus there is more with this situation that we had not even considered like the past week\u2019s typhoon\u2019s which fortunately was downgraded to a tropical storm, so the wind and rain damage was minimal, and with the recent oil spill on site it doesn\u2019t help now to have to \u00a0determine if the oil is radioactive.\u00a0 What more is at risk one may consider?\u00a0 Further detonation of radioactive materials into the atmosphere, and nuclear criticality with a chain reaction from the radioactive materials&#8211; is what we hope to prevent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1085\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthatmosphere-tif-746x600_q852.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1085\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1085\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthatmosphere-tif-746x600_q852.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthatmosphere-tif-746x600_q852.jpg 746w, https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/earthatmosphere-tif-746x600_q852-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1085\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Earth Atmosphere Courtesy of NASA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But will it take a greater catastrophe for humanity to wake up to the consequences of the choices we are making for our future? Can we change our value structure in time? Sadly, it seems that it is easier to turn a blind eye now to these possibilities and ignore the situation.\u00a0 \u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2011\/06\/01\/idUSL3E7H101N20110601\">draft report<\/a> of\u00a0UN\u2019s week long inspection\u00a0shows there was much at fault from TEPCO with the situation at Fukushima, as they did not follow the \u201cplay book of rules\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not easy to move on from grief realizing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8ufVkTWpvSI\">impacts of the nuclear situation with the Fukushima radiation<\/a>.\u00a0 Added to the\u00a0existing\u00a0polluted air and contaminated water, radiation further affects our drinking water and food.
