{"id":109,"date":"2009-03-19T21:20:19","date_gmt":"2009-03-19T21:20:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/?p=109"},"modified":"2018-07-05T15:56:54","modified_gmt":"2018-07-05T23:56:54","slug":"growing-up-with-epa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldteamnow.org\/blog\/2009\/03\/19\/growing-up-with-epa\/","title":{"rendered":"Growing Up With EPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Suzanne Maxx<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">\u201cTo the hard working men and women of the EPA it is a new day, it\u2019s a new day,\u201d proclaimed Michelle Obama.\u00a0 \u201cThe Obama EPA is on the job.\u00a0 It\u2019s a new day!\u201d she exclaimed, \u201cand the truth is we can\u2019t wait one more minute with the recently signed Recovery Package\u201d, and she continued to inspire with her speech.\u00a0\u00a0 The First Lady describes her first most important job as being a \u201cMom\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 I asked my Mom to watch this as s<span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">he had worked at the EPA for many years and had left the federal government during another\u00a0adminstration<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 10pt;\"><a title=\"Video of Michelle Obama-EPA\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100401104939\/http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/multimedia\/playercontents\/video\/MObama\/index.html\" target=\"_self\">Video of Michelle Obama to EPA<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">She was moved to tears, and regained hope&#8230;\u00a0 It is a relief to know that energy and the environment are being championed with bold new policies and decisions, and for the affirmation that science will be at the heart of environmental policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Michelle\u2019s prioritization about the importance of the environment for this administration, left few dry eyes in the audience,\u00a0now coming out from the dark into a bright light, and very eager to see.
