Martin Luther King Jr. who is also celebrated this week end declared, \u201cI Have a Dream”<\/a>…. \u00a0His dream changed the world with his words, inspiration and \u201cCall\u2019. This Inauguration we are hopeful that President Obama will use his term to achieve some much needed milestones for our environment, \u00a0and our people in this nation.<\/p>\n

However it is unreasonable to expect any politician with the present political system to change the nation alone, \u00a0but with all of our help, transformation of the world is possible. We only ask that President Obama can live into his greatest potential, and\u00a0realize\u00a0a higher Call.<\/p>\n

Regardless of party or partisanship, here we are, and we have choices about the kind of earth we want the future generations to inherit.\u00a0 We have some serious issues up in our nation and our world; There are things to change in defense for our earth in the USA that others in the environmental movement are focused on like; \u201cThe Keystone EXL Pipeline,\u201d \u201cThe Nuclear Waste Situation\u201d, the \u201cNuclear Power Safety\u201d issue, \u201cNatural Gas Fracking\u201d, \u2018Granting Permits for Drilling Oil in Wildlife Refuges\u201d, and places like the Antarctic, \u201cFarm Fisheries\u201d and \u201cGMO Food\u201d.\u00a0 Teaming up together is the key.<\/p>\n

World Team Now is primarily focused on the issues to stand up for\u2014 we are on the offense\u2014 like \u201cProtecting Clean Air\u201d, \u201cClean Water\u201d, and \u201cPermitting of Large Scale Renewable Energy Projects\u201d such as \u201cTidal\u2019, \u201cWind\u201d, \u201cSolar\u201d, and \u201cGeothermal \u201d\u00a0energy campaigns, demonstration projects, and educating the public. Let\u2019s help fulfill the \u201cElectric Vehicle\u201d goal set out last term, and fast-track \u201cCharging Infrastructure\u201d and \u201cEnergy Storage\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 World Team Now supports \u201cClean Transportation\u201d, \u201cNet Zero Buildings\u201d with demonstration projects that use fewer resources, for more efficiency, and ideally are designed with natural resources in mind. Let\u2019s stand together for protecting \u201cEndangered Species,\u201d and loving all.\u00a0 Let\u2019s include the whales and dolphins and different species, and people in different parts of world.\u00a0 We can be a World Team Now.<\/p>\n

The change needed is daunting, we need both offense and defense– but here is where we plan to start this weekend.<\/p>\n

Our three day week end kicks off with Beach Clean Up at Zuma Beach, Malibu CA for the National Day of Service (sign up here to RSVP and for more details)<\/a><\/p>\n

Join us in honor of this National Day of Service at our local Zuma Beach, Malibu! Meet\u00a0up at the main Life Guard Headquarters (near Morning View). Bring comfortable shoes, bags and gloves.<\/p>\n

All wheels are welcome\u2014 skates, blades, boards, and bikes! Let’s clean up the beach and demonstrate clean transportation! Come to the beach in a clean mode of transportation please\u2014 EV, hybrid, walk, or bike\u2014\u00a0if you can!<\/p>\n

After this, there is another LA event<\/a> that goes much of the day and into the evening\u00a0\u00a0to encourage President Obama to make it a “Green Term”. \u00a0\u00a0Find a local event<\/a> to participate in the National Day of Service.<\/p>\n
