Politics: Shining the Light on Solar Energy<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">A good for beginning real change in politics is to know that Congress passed an 8-Year Extension of Solar Investment Tax Credit<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">This historic legislation extends the 30-percent federal investment tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations for 8 more years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">This legislation will:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;\" type=\"square\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;\">Extend for 8 years the 30-percent tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;\" type=\"square\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;\">Eliminate the $2,000 monetary cap for residential solar electric installations, creating a true 30-percent credit;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;\" type=\"square\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;\">Eliminate the prohibition on utilities from benefiting from the credit;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;\" type=\"square\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;\">Allow Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) filers, both businesses and families, to take the credit;
