Ocean “Day”, Ocean Decade- The Ocean Tide

May Ocean day, today, now become a tide of change.

A time of reflection, of new choices a season to rearrange

Can time be measured by counting merely one-day’s actions?

When it is a tide coming to change mass movement not small fractions

Is Doomsday the keeper of the ocean in humanity’s time?

United Nations Ocean Decade, judgement to be counted as sublime

Humanity’s peril existences blaring sound, sea level rising, revolt and alarm

To move beyond prioritizing fossil fuel habits, farmed fishing subsidies and geo-political harm

Oceans forgiving font of injustice abuses greedy power of humanity’s nuclear folly and plastic fears

Higher wisdom applied, timeless nature, transform age, enlightened minds stretch tides past years

Depths, resources, resiliency incomprehensible wealth amasses coming of a treasured tide

Could not all fall in love with the rich fluid, unchartered territory of wondrous loving waters to abide?

How to see the ocean a new, from large ocean states perspective and view

Open hearts to remind there is so much to do, to keep ocean in focus and not go askew

Majesty knows no bounds body freely floating in the ocean

Breath of life aligned one primal penultimate flowing motion

Bringing life force through body, spirit and renewing mind

Calibrating to universal order priorities, beyond the world to find

Nexus in atmosphere unifying source of life for us all

Boundaries of no division open beyond one’s rule, laws or Call

Oh but the healing powers, the body effervescence, can we embrace the intimacy coming of life force

Rejuvenating spirit keeper of most reflective powers above and below growing humanity’s new course

To apply respect, scientific knowledge navigate a transformed way, led by nature and the ocean of life

The solutions, based within natural forces will present like a husband coming in union with fertile wife

None other can birth captivate like ocean’s infinite sparkle to cleanse and reflect

Sun’s golden rise, moon’s face on full life force sets sail universal truths to eject

Preservation of species, marine protected areas, renewed policy for sea and shore

Next gen to live love of ocean, youth in action to core lasting solutions evermore

Earth Day, Each Breath…

Cob building workshop starting soon

Earth day was “Yesterday” in the Pacific Island Region

Earth day is “Today” still in parts of the USA

Tomorrow Earth Day may be, “Every Day”

Wish it could be “everywhere” in the world, for “everyone”

Community based projects, nature based solutions, can rise– as can we now

To the conservation and focus on renewal of the land,

Regenerative agriculture and old growth trees

To the islands mangroves and large ocean states

To the pristine purity abundant flow of the water

To the transformation, health and protection of all species

Universal policy with Law of the Sea, sustainable fisheries

The ocean dolphins, whales, and all biodiversity

Wars heat fuels  prompt action,

Where can we  move hearts to have more compassion

From Volcano Goddess Pele’s tears or lava stands of hair

Fire will never say that it has enough

Remember justice, is just us

May we have miracles of peace and action in the works

Suzanne Maxx: Response to Bill McGibben’s share above
We can only hope that the silence from leaders to guide the transition to electrify, our homes, and vehicles is to create the tension needed for all to rise, beyond what divides….Being independent with our energy and moving towards natural based solutions is now in the collective narrative.  Towards peace, we have each do what we can to grow more of our own, or at least keep it local, what we eat

Paul Winter’s and friends’ music and visions
Paul Winters and Henrique Eisenmann recorded a new piece, sent this and I’m sharing it with you all for Earth Day, and share it with everyone as a free download here;

We have titled it “Ukraine Spring,” to honor the people and their land. We imagined a piece that was both bittersweet and hopeful, a journey of reflection, that finally arrives at a quiet place, in the morning sunshine, infused with the promise of springtime.

World Water Day 2022

Water, being essential for life, ebbs and flows with a tide as does this World Water day that initiates the season of renewal with rituals as diverse as all the ways spirituality and religion are practiced in different parts of the world.

Regardless of belief, water is the most fundamental practical essences of life here on earth.

Let’s hear more about Water from WTN board member Walter Andrews, who has a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise on water from being a Charter Member of the EPA since founding and serving over 50 years.

Thanks for listening.

World Water Day was adopted at the United Nations Conference in Rio de Janeiro UNCED called the Earth Summit in 1992. The Earth Summit and Global Forum were life-changing experiences to participate in during the beginning years of the World Team journey, before founding our non-profit World Team Now. For many of us committed to the environmental social movement greater teamwork for the earth of the next generation began then.

1993 began World Water Day’s annual water day themes. Here too was the beginning of the journey to the UN’s ratification of the Sustainable Development Goals – with water now in SDG’s #6 Clean Water and Sanitation. Every year, there is a new theme for World Water Day whose tide seems to go from the 20th-23rd of March every year.

Let’s all do our best for the water and earth every day. For me growing up every day was actually was World Water Day when my mother came home from work at EPA where she was an environmental scientist, let’s all be citizen scientists for our earth Mother, and protect our common lifeblood, Water.

Please let us know If you are interested in the Water Themes World Team Now is exploring: drinking water purification, distribution, water sanitation, desalination of saltwater to freshwater, water from the hydrogen fuel cell, water for energy, as in tidal, and wave energy, water for transportation, and water for cleansing, birthing, exercising, healing and rituals.

Are there any other water themes you are interested for us to explore?

If you are interested in helping with any of our water programs, especially the ocean curricula, please let us know.

Please feel free to add ideas, share, or join us reach out to us at contact-us@worldteamnow.org or me,  Suzanne Maxx

Wisdom for Peace

Especially knowing today that if women ruled the world, and had the freedom of choice, war would be impossible.

We, as women, embody a creative nature and by nature the care and love of one another is organic.  We nurture love to grow, within and throughout, the best we can in all.   This is true where the Divine feminine can grow.

Last week’s “Ash Wednesday,” began a season, with the kind of tide I can appreciate rising.  Unlike the sea level rising and the stresses on the ocean/atmosphere hurricane and cyclone season.

Thankfully, Ash Wednesday was not like 2020’s when I looked up from the music, singing in a choir, to end up in the ER with ashes in my eyes.

In 2022, when I began writing to fill the blank pages of a brand new gifted journal, it would become my #69 handwritten book, with a beautiful cover of a 3D color Owl.  In the morning, I began to fill up the journal with not just my mind’s ideas, but also the spontaneity of inspired heart and soul of what became a great gift; I have come to appreciate the “present” as upon contemplation and reflection it calls forth the vision, to the future. This Wednesday was no exception.

I stretched out my body,  held in the air, my limbs kissing the tree limbs holding my weight under the canopy of a great pine tree whose wispy green needles’ tent hid me entirely under its branches. Our eyes locked gazing into one another’s core essence for what felt like an eternity, I could feel Owl’s wisdom penetrating beyond gender, species, boundaries, and borders.

We both seemed to echo “Words of wisdom beyond sound or writing!”

The kind of silent reverence, equality respect, and curiosity exchanged, as I too was lying  bowing underneath on trees bough, communing in the shared safety of nature’s grip away from the development of the world,  at least for a few moments, the noise of the city was gone. In my mind, I answer Owl’s query of “WHO?”

“If not US, then Who?  Who will defend nature, or at least find peaceful harmony?”

I hear beyond the whisper of words, the soundless syllables, and the owl’s wise plea.

True to the owl totem, the dark of the night is when the work gets done, not in daylight. Thus the miraculous encounter. The Owls eyes were wide open in the light, and willing to meet my eyes!

Even though now night, maybe somewhere in the world, it is still International Women’s Day.  Or maybe Women’s Day is every day, for every species?

2022, Thanks to YOU!

May all things “New,” bring fulfillment to you,

Especially now, in year 2022,

With all of who we are, with all that the things we do,

Loving aloud, with compassion dreams realized as true,

In action for nature, with solutions, much to do,

For the health of the sky, and the ocean ever blue,

May we set sail, float; outrig, Drua, kyack, and canoe,

Heart embodied more than image of ink on skin tattoo,

Health reigning for all people through, and through,

Transformed systems to assess- consider and review,

Adaptation world peace – nature’s growing coup,

All would wonder how, when? And especially who,

Can we together find resilience, common ground to renew?

Balance and equality might make a debut,

On islands, Global South, look to Fiji, Vanua Levu

Priorities shifting health to overcome pandemic and the flu,

The change starts with just one, but together we make two,

Imagine the possibilities of what we altogether just might do,

Deep gratitude, for friends, family, community too,

Remember, the blessings and love there is especially for YOU!
